Movers with temporary storage

Hi everyone,

We need to move some of our stuff including a few large furniture into storage for 1-2 months. Any recommendations for storage with moving service from old location to new location please?

Did that with Serenity Movers when we moved from our last place into our current one. They were the best of the 5 movers I’ve used over the years. Reasonably priced, super carefully packed, nothing broken, and were very flexible with storage (we didn’t know exactly when we’d be moving into our place, but had to be out of our old one.) Would definitely recommenced them.

I used Movers Not Shakers years ago when it was Marc’s but apparently he has sold it recently. I was pleased with them and they did store my things for me for a few weeks.

I recommend your own storage. I had a large apartment of stuff at Padded Wagon in the So. BX (this was two decades ago). The “storage” was a corner in their truck warehouse. Plenty of stuff missing. That establishment was recommended to me by a friend who owned a fine art and antique gallery that used them for expensive pieces. Since then I’ve rented my own storage between moves. So much better. My lock, my storage, no movers in sight. If you have a bad experience with move #1 you can always hire someone else instead of being hostage to the original movers.

I do not recommend Movers Not Shakers. Some of my then-gf/now-wife’s fancypants cutlery “took a walk” with them and they were in general completely unprofessional. Hard driving for a big tip at the end of the move, underestimating the cost overall, unable to provide the dimensions for the boxes, even screwing up addresses (!!). We did a second move with Flat Rate Movers, who were awesome. Looking at their website they provide storage.
