Hi! Would love any and all recommendations for someone who can help design and install historic bay window moulding. My parlor floor apt suffered hurricane damage in the fall — as a result my back back window had to be removed & reinstalled (sigh). The upside is that I now have the opportunity to recreate historic moulding detailing (vs. straight sheetrock the way the flippers sold it to me). I’ve got tons of catalogs of Victorian moulding — I just need to find a carpenter who can help design, augment as needed and install. Steve the door guy with tinkers wagon does a lot of this stuff. Super knowledgeable, truly an amazing resource. He’s helping me with some door issues but I know for a fact he can do the window job you’re describing.

Kachuri, thanks for that vote of confidence. Listen, because i am busy and won’t be able to get to yours until i clear two projects, i will still honor my offer and tell your husband what he has to do to properly complete these. It works for me to help people this way on this board at no charge.

Op, i no longer really do this sort of panel/casement work except around doors. The doors keep me busy and i really don’t like working inside houses, the cutting and the mess; i would make it on site. I would talk to john hancock’s person. Also, I know people who would probably fabricate most of this off-site and leave most of the mess off site as well. If you don’t find someone you like, come back and i will post a name.
