Try all American Stairs and Railings, based in Queens. I’ve worked with them twice and have been very happy. They are pros, so they are in and out quickly, with excellent workmanship. The only drawback is that they don’t usually do the wood finishing, so you would need someone else to do that.

i have been referring this guy around brooklyn for about 10 years now. he is a wood worker who for the most part works by himself. when i met him he was doing a full gut reno with a team of helpers and trades but he has since worked alone. he does stair rebuilds and i had to contact him yesterday about something else on here and he told me “he likes doing stairs”.

the only reservation is, he has told me he wishes to take time off to work on his own house. he did tell me he would be maintaining his insurance whilst taking care of his house, so to me that means he will still be in business.
