Since Gregory closed, where are people shopping for lights, with selection and a knowledgeable sales staff?

canal st used to have a whole bunch of lighting stores in the vicinity of the bowery. are these ALL disappearing?

That store on the corner of Court street closed a while back, it was a great store for lamp parts and hickeys and such…too bad. That store had been there for ever…

There’s a lighting store at 233 Court St. that has a decent selection & reasonable prices. The people there know their stuff.

There was a Gregory on the Bowery near Delancey for decades. I guess that store closed.

I just looked up Lighting by Gregory. It was in Upper Saddle River NJ.! Did people from Brownstone Brooklyn REALLY bother to trek out there? I can’t imagine that I’d ever do so.

I’m not familiar with Gregory, but Lamp Warehouse, on 39th Street @ Ft. Hamilton Parkway, has C a good selection and knowledgeable salespeople. FWIW though I’ve only bought ceiling fan’s and light kits there. All my light fixtures are vintage.
