Light fixture help
My kitchen light went out and i cannot figure out how to open the fixture. No screws, no give in any direction, I’m lost. Anybody recognize it or have ideas? [20181216_130804](//muut.com/u/brownstoner/s3/:brownstoner:xMSm:20181216_130804.jpg.jpg)

Do you know the brand of fixture? Many times you can find their guides for installation and removal online. Or can you put on gloves and pull back on those silver arms?

If, like my light fixture, the glass bayonets on, it might be very hard to turn and remove, unless you have very large hands. My hands are fairly small and the only way I can get my glass off is to attach a couple of large suction cups, so that I can get a good grip.

thanks everybody! the clips actually don’t touch the “glass” at all (it’s plastic). we’ve tried pushing up and turning (no give), pulling down (no give), shifting the one clip that moves at all doesn’t seem to do anything. is it hammer time?

one or more of the clips has to release, tug on each clip and find the one that moves to release the glass.

If the glass isn’t held by clips it may bayonet onto the fixture. Try turning it counterclockwise. I have a light fixture where the glass is held on that way–it’s a real PITSA to remove.

Looks like the metal clips hold in the globe
, try pulling the glass down gently from one side so the pressure from the clips release the glass cover
