Large brownstone door glass pane disposal / rehousing
Hello. We just had the glass in our brownstone entry doors replaced. I’m unsure of how to dispose of the old panes. (I do not believe the replaced glass is original, btw…) Any suggestions? I’m more than glad to give them to any of my fellow forum members if any of you happen to be interested. Two panes measure approximately 72″ x 16″ and the other two are about 70″ x 16″ and they’re about 1/4″ thick.
Thanks,
Frank

be careful putting these in newer installations. check the state and city laws on where safety glass must be used. on or around doors must be safety glass. Olga, if you are near doors, you have to be careful. if a visitor goes through a glass pane on a newer install, where safety glass should be, you can have problems. if someone got hurt, i mean. check the codes.

We will happily take it to reuse as a second set of the doors for our glass enclosed porch that we are currently renovating. the measurements ( thank you for posting them!) are exactly what would feet as glass panels if we make a frame.
We need 3, and the 4th we could reuse as a coldframe cover.
But we will be away till next weekend.
