Hi Forum,

I have a couple areas of recessed wall in my apartment, and I’d like to DIY some built-in shelving in those spaces. Both spaces are irregular in shape. One is like a trapezoid, and the other is more complicated (multiple angles and cuts needed). The assembly is something I can handle, but I don’t have access to the tools to make the very custom cuts for perfectly fit shelves.

Fond as I am of DIY I don’t think a circular saw is an appropriate tool for a first time power tool user. Confession–even after many years mine scares the hell out of me. IMO if the OP is going to pay for someone to take the measurements and cut the shelves he may as well also have them installed, so that the responsibility for their fitting falls on the fabricator.
