ISO electrician for Ridgewood rewire

Hello everyone!

My partner and I have recently purchased a two-family home in Ridgewood (2 floors, 1 basement, roughly 3300 sq ft) and are looking to do a full rewire.

Wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a licensed electrician (permitting, inspection, the works)? We have been getting some pretty high quotes for the rewire – closer to 60k, and our understanding is that 30-40k is more typical for something of this scope. That being said, we want to make sure to do this properly as it is such a key part of the renovation process.

Have looked through this forum in detail and found a lot of great suggestions, unfortunately many of them do not provide service in Queens (Ceriello, Riviera) and Tom Munetz, whose name pops up often, may be too busy to work with us in the near future. A recommendation for Ridgewood with a few vouches would be incredibly helpful.

Ot: One time we got a butcher block countertop piece from ikea and attempted to have the delivery taxi stop on the south corner of one of the border streets so we could pay $25 Brooklyn flat rate rather than $50 for the ride and just haul the thing the last few blocks ourselves. We misjudged by one block and the guy charged us the full $50 so we reloaded the taxi and had him drive us the lousy extra three blocks. He was annoyed, but we were broke in those days and I was also six months pregnant at the time. Good luck!!

Thank you both for these recs, much appreciated- will give them a try. Exactly haha, riiiiight on the border between Brooklyn and Queens. We’re very enamored with the neighborhood and hope to give our rowhome renovation a solid start with this rewire. Maybe Eric or Jesse will be willing to venture over!

If you can get ahold of him we like Eric Paulsen a lot (917-628-7799). We haven’t yet fully rewired but he has helped with some other projects and I know he’s done whole-house projects too. Can be a little hard to pin down, as he often has a few projects going at once, but I think his pricing will be competitive. We used him in Brooklyn so IDK if he will travel tho you are barely NOT in Brooklyn (we used to live in Ridgewood! love it there). You can tell him the rec came from Liz and Ryan.

tom munetz has intimated to me that he is doing less work in Brooklyn (and technically, Ridgewood is not Brooklyn) but if you can get him, he is one hell of a contractor and person in general. Munetz Electrical Contracting Corp, Glendale. My customers love him.

There was a time when Ridgewood was (at least partially) considered to be in Brooklyn. That might have been better for you.
