We refurbished our original iron door and I’m curious what paint people have used for the classic/original look? I’ve heard Rustoleum Satin Black, but would love confirmation/other suggestions. Thanks!

Satin won’t hold up well on an exterior door. Semi isn’t the prettiest, but it will last much longer.
If you want more color and finish options, look at Benjamin Moore. They have in between finishes like Eggshell and Pearl on most lines. Regal Select Exterior, Advance, Scuff-X.

Satin really wouldn’t hold up on any door. Interior, exterior, wood or metal. I should have said especially an exterior door.

Thank you, @no-permitz! What about trying the Rustoleum Matte Black?

you are asking about look and others are talking about durability. it is said that gloss paints are more durable outside. but more so than that, preparation will be key to durability. priming. i have used the rusty metal primer on clean metal for years and then was told by rustoleam that i should not be doing that. that was when i encountered problems; i just had someone scrape and prime my own iron on my house and let them apply the rusty metal primer to all bare metal, rust or no.
in so far as application and longevity, i cannot really tell any difference between the Ben Moore Super Spec and Rustoleum. the ben moore has something called DTM (direct to metal) and I would not use it without using a primer.
that matte you are asking no permitz about is probably close to satin. you will have to step it to semi.

and just so people know, with metal finishing; i did a car once (a 72 beetle) and prior to priming the metal, i acid washed it to remove any invisible particles of rust. i am not saying that we have to go to that extreme on iron, i won’t on the crappy iron on my own queens house. but it does not hurt to explore some other things out there; even for me, products are changing and they now have epoxy paints that we knew about thirty years ago but we would not have thought of using due to expense. some of these are begining to move mainstream. just because it has the word epoxy does not mean it is hard to apply. it goes on like paint and generally you can pour the hardener into these things and you have time to use the can, like 24 hours or something. it might be worth reading about and some of the balustrades i see on some of the old brownstones might really benefit from an epoxy; if done right these last a long time.
you don’t hear about epoxy at the corner paint store because they do not have it and will not tell you about anything that they do not se ll (they are one notch above the people in orange aprons and two notches above drug dealers; all people the rest of us try to avoid). i just checked, Rustoleum now makes an epoxy. Places like Grainger sell it. Also, i see it in the maritime cataloges.
