HUD lean 5 times the amount of the actual loan??

Don’t refinance a pre-2008 loan. They’re all garbage. If you have a pre 2008 mortgage chances are you don’t owe money to anyone

Hello, I am trying to refinance a FHA loan, and when they did a title search they came up with a HUD lean (apparently to secure the 10,000 mentioned below) for 50,000 on a Covid 2020 forbearance of 10,000. Now we are needing to pay 50,000 to close the loan? Has anyone had a similar experience? Is there anyway to get HUD to remove this, as it seemed to have nothing to do with the terms of the forebearance? I called the loan servicer and they only have the 10,000 as a loan, not 50,000…Any suggestions, thoughts appreciated!!!

Can you get HUD to remove the lien? You may need a lawyer.

“The COVID-19 Recovery Standalone Partial Claim places amounts you owe into a subordinate lien that is repaid only when you refinance your mortgage, sell your home, or your mortgage otherwise terminates”

I would take that to mean you have to repay the $10k in order to refi. Perhaps not so different than having an outstanding HELOC that requires approval (or repayment) of the second-lien holder in order to refi.

I have seen nowhere that states the amount of the junior lien but it is worth following up with the FHA. Your junior lien should be showing on Acris.

The documentation you were provided with the forbearance should surely carry all this information. Is this not the case?
