How to prevent garbage can theft?

I never put cans out on the curb either. They were stored in the small first floor addition off the back of the house.

For the last few months I’ve done what chemosphere suggested–no more searching for cans and lids after collection.

I only put the bags on the curb, not the cans. This also avoids getting any tickets for leaving cans out too long after collection. Someone took the can from the front area against my house.
