Heights Woodworking

Hello I see some less recent posts recommending Heights Woodworking. The business was sold and Vaughn is no longer there. A man named Opu responded to my inquiry regarding fixing it replacing a wood exterior door. Just wondering if anyone has had experience with this company since the new owners took over. Thanks for any input!

Running a business that size means that the owner is dealing with customers and managing the business. The owner might have started as a woodworker decades ago, but now they are a business person. So the quality of every glue joint will depend on the people they hire. If they try to save money by hiring untrained people – and keep in mind woodwork at this level is not a trade, it is a craft that not everyone can do – the outcome will suffer.

I wish them luck. I know vaughan and am sorry things did not work out for him. Truth is, it will keep getting harder and harder to remain profitable in these shops.

We had a front door made by them about 10 years ago while Vaughn was in charge. We have net the new owners; they seem to be very accommodating and nice folks. But the most important thing are the skilled workers they employ there and how much of a work backload they have taken on. Give them a call and see if you can pay them a visit. The shop is BEHIND another business so when you enter the lot you may not see it right away.
