Heating and Radiator

So sorry i wasn’t clear enough. So we have a hot water system (pex piping). The hot water is heated with the oil. The pex also needs to be fixed as the entire mech room looks like a bad anime.

Does anyone have an excellent and licensed plumber that specializes in heating/ radiators. My husband and i recently underwent a huge renovation but we had the worlds worst plumbers. Needless to say 1/2 of the radiators in the house don’t work. I think we need a pump from the boiler but I’m not sure.

You do not need a licensed plumber to work on the heating system. You need a heating professional.

BTW I believe that you mentioned that you have steam heat… a pump has nothing to do with a steam system

Agreed. Plumbing and Heating are grouped together because of NYC Code but they really are extremely different. We have a ton of Service Experts who could install a toilet blindfolded but couldn’t tell the difference between an Automatic Feeder and a Low Water Cut Off and vice-versa with the Heating Experts.
All the above are solid options including a few more.

I sadly have oil. I would love to convert to steam but I need a expert to analyse this. I understand that I don’t need a licensed plumber but I’m so traumatized by these fools that I hired who marketed themselves under a licensed plumber and totally did a horrible job with no accountability. SamLee, oil is your fuel. Natural gas is another fuel. There are also wood, coal, and others.. Steam, hot water, and hot air, are the actual heating mediums that heat the rooms. Every professional commenting here knows what they are doing. We are competitors but good guys and very friendly with each other. You are in good hands with any of us, and several others in Brooklyn, like Aladdin Plumbing for example. We are an odd minority in the borough. 100% of the worst workmanship I’ve seen in my 35+ year career has been work done in Brooklyn homes. I don’t know what it is, but a homeowner around here has got to educate themselves just a bit and then ask around for recommendations for quality people. Not cheap people. Everyone talks a good game, but only results matter.
