Hardscaping Contractor Recommendation

I had a lot of cement work for my hardscape and used William P Construction. He did concrete, tile, retaining walls and horizontal fence. It has been a couple of years, and has held up quite well.

Would appreciate a recommendation for a contractor to renovate our townhouse garden. Scope would include to demo existing concrete and flooring, furnish and install new flooring, plantings, including trees and building a pergola. Thanks in advance!

so hardscape and landscape? your own design? I did my own design and hired someone to do the hardscape, and because my yard is small I did the landscape myself. If I had a larger yard, I would most definitely hired a landscaper separately after the hardscape was finished. It is theoretically much easier to piece it out if it is your own design.

If you don’t have a design, or don’t know exactly know what your needs are, I would personally hire a landscape designer. Check the forum archives, and there are a bunch who advertise here as well to peruse their designs.

I had a good experience with Red Fern Brooklyn doing what sounds pretty similar to what you’re looking for – demo existing concrete, install concrete paver patio, wood pergola, new wood fence, plantings of various types (including trees), run an electric line out to the seating area, etc. Sera at Red Fern was great – she helped design the whole thing, coordinated all the different trades needed, and didn’t flinch when we inevitably had to address some unanticipated issues once everything had been demo’d.

Thanks for the responses. A little more info. We have a design from a landscape architect. Includes hard and landscape design. We’re looking to bid it out to two or three contractors and she asked if we had any leads on contractors as she doesn’t do a ton in the area. I’ll check the forum as was suggested.
