Gas Dryer

Yes sprinklers are required in the laundry room if you have more than one dryer. I had the exact same problem where the DoB reviewer denied my plan unless I added sprinklers or removed a dryer. Google “Section: 903.2.11.13 Laundry Drying Areas”. Per my architect, the DoB will sometimes allow it, but my guess is its probably because the reviewer didn’t know or didn’t catch it. Just note sprinklers are a real pain if you dont already have them in the building. Its not just the upfront cost to install but the real gottcha is the expensive ongoing plumber / FDNY inspections required.

We would like to replace electric dryers with gas dryers. We know we need DOB approval. It seems that if we install one dryer, we don’t need to have a sprinkler. We need to install 2 gas dryers.

Does anybody know if we need to install a sprinkler if we have 2 gas dryers? (Any publication on this subject? Thanks
