Has any one put in new garage doors in a landmark area? I am not sure of my options. Do they need to be carriage style, all wood?

If they do, I used these guys up in MA and was very pleased with price, service & product. I got stained doors back in 2012 and the stain looks as good as new 5 years later. http://designerdoors.com

A newly renovated house on my corner has wood roll-up garage doors that look like carriage doors. I’m sure their exterior work was approved by LPC.

Definitely ask LPC for a visual guide to help answer your questions. Also, I’m sure there are some companies have a good pulse on what LPC will/will not approve and will facilitate the permitting process as well.

Good advice. I noticed in LPC guidelines there isn’t a separate section for garage doors so I am assuming the general exterior doors guidelines are what should apply. Good idea to talk to local installers who probably have a good sense of the whole thing. Thank guys!
