I don’t see any way for an accurate estimate to be provided given the limited amount of information provided here. Your best bet is to contact 3-4 reputable contractors and schedule appointments to review the scope of work and provide quotes. In extremely board brushstrokes, if you want to do this for under $10,000 it might be challenging, but I wouldn’t think it would cost in excess of $50,000. Again, these are wild and inaccurate guesses and could be completely wrong.

I am considering a purchase where I would need to replace the internal steps (one flight), and would hope to make them a functional part of the kitchen (i.e., some understep storage and possibly counters space). Doing so likely requires some renovations to a kitchenette – figure not highest end, but given needs, likely not off the shelf. Any thoughts on costs of such a renovation?
