FREE 19th Century Oak Drafting Table - NEEDS A LOT OF WORK
It sounds pretty awesome. How wide is it? What would you do if you were gonna fix it up? I have random orbital hand sander, only a hobbiest type shop. Can I get the job done in my basement or yard? Is it covered in toxic stuff?

i have a 6′ long by say 48″ oak drafting table that i wish to part with. it needs work. we used it as a stripping table for doors and it has a lot of residue on it. it is solid oak and can be sanded down to probably look like new. but it will take work. it has 3 drawers below the sloping top. it is not on its original legs and is sagging in the middle so it will need more support. i think in its day it was probably the top section of a larger unit, say with a flat file under it. Maybe it was not a drafting table but had giant ledger books on it. there is a lot of work but a lot of potential. i would keep it and fix it if i had a bigger home.
i can post photos but really think they will do it a diservice.
it is free and in zip 11379.
i can be reached by an email on my website www.thetinkerswagon.com
