Estate appraisal and mysterious paintings...

I’m in the position of liquidating my parents modest estate. However, my father was very involved in the arts back in the 60s and 70s in NYC, occasionally representing painters, and he does have some paintings of value. One group of 8 paintings he has I have had no luck finding the name of the painter. My father suffered from memory loss and was never able to tell me. There are artist’s marks on the paintings. I spent weeks going through artists’ monograph collections to figure it out with no luck. Just wondering if anyone knows a service or person who could help with this as well as perhaps appraising the other art and furniture.

The paintings are interesting–done on aluminum and possibly intended (but not accepted) for the Alcoa art collection of the early 1960s.
