electric meters

Hi, I own and live in a legal two family that my family is and will use only for my family. There are two electric meters because it used to be rented. Because there are extra fees for having a second meter and I have installed solar (so want it to power the whole house), I am considering asking Coned to remove one of the meters.

Understanding that I would make it more expensive to try to restore the rental property, what are the considerations for doing this? Would me electrician need to do anything?
