DOB requirements for gas boiler replacement and cost estimate

This is my first post on your forum and looking forward to all replies. My aunt is thinking about replacing an older gas boiler after this year (makes heat and hot water) and I want to know if anyone can give any advise on what is required by NYC DOB (possible permit,etc) as well as estimate of how much labor cost should run for installation. We are looking at a possible replacement model with 340,000 BTU.

they will make them check that entire system for leaks after the new install. so that possibility has to be factored in to the estimate.

Before you go any further get a reputable heating outfit to size the new boiler … .340000 btus seems ridiculously oversized for a brooklyn brownstone or average sized victorian
