Disturbing aesbestos material with .98% chrystoline during demolition
Question for anyone who’s dealt with aesbestos before. A few of our materials have nearly 1% ACM so technically a formal abatement isn’t required. But there’s still some aesbestos in the material. All non-friable. Should I be concerned that the demo will kick this material up? If ultimately it’ll be covered once job is complete, is that ok? Not clear how much the aesbestos concern is a racquet for the city to make some $ or is it more about worker protection than anything? My understanding is any fibers fall to the ground after a couple days anyway and then it can be encapsulated.
