Covering up lot line window

Ah, thanks. The window is already an unnecessary cold spot, and the bathroom already has a ventilation fan. But the mold potential is something I hadn’t thought of, and a reason not to cut corners.

We have a lot line window in our bathroom that we are renovating. Contrary to what is the usual question: what if we want to block the window now? If we just install sheetrock from the inside and leave the window in place, does that violate anything? If at a later date the building next door builds up and the window needs to be actually sealed, or if the window gets damaged and needs to be replaced, I realize it will make things a little more difficult to rip out the sheetrock, but it seems a worthwhile trade-off.

Better to do it right the first time. While no one would bother you about it. Drywalling over it will just create a unnecessary cold spot, and perhaps a mold risk with condensation forming inside. Also, legally; a bathroom needs either a window or a ventilation fan. The ventilation duct should run up and through the roof.
