Concrete Sidewalk Contractor Recommendation

We received a DOT violation for our sidewalk and need to get it replaced. Any recommendations for contractors who specialize in this for Brownstone Brooklyn?

I also need sidewalk replaced along my house, 40ft long. I’ve been quoted $3,700 and $6,300… looking for a third estimate from someone people trust

I wish I could remember the guy we used for the sidewalks. For the heated sidewalks we got all the materials from warmzone, which I would highly recommend. They walked us through the whole install and we did it ourselves. Materials about $1200 if I recall. Then we had to have a special electric line run which cost about another $1200.

I used J&L Landscaping for both my sidewalk as well as resetting bluestone and making steps in my front garden. Highly recommend their work, but make sure you specify exactly what is being done (and what you’ll pay) before starting.

We got a violation last fall. We decided to put in heated sidewalks which was has been amazing. No more shoveling, and it was not too expensive to put in and not expensive to run. However, AFTER we replaced the sidewalks per the city, national grid came by and tagged our sidewalk for an upgrade. So they want to rip out a few squares! Can’t they coordinate efforts?!?

Agree w/ Bob. Google “DOT Expedited Sidewalk Repair.” Less hassle, not negotiating, reasonably priced. Also if you have tree root damage, the city will not bill you for that section.

You’ll save yourself aggravation and , possibly, money if you do nothing and let the City assign their own contractor to fix this. I KNOW that seems counterintuitive, but it’s true.
