Hello everyone,
I recently moved in to a wood frame Victorian in the Ditmas Park area and am interested in having interior shutters made and installed. However, neither of the two options I’ve been able to find so far–ie, buying modern shutters such as Hunter Douglas or similar, or having shutters made remotely by shutterblinds.com and getting a local contractor to install them–both don’t really appeal to me. I dislike the look of all the modern shutters I’ve seen, but the idea of having to do the measurements myself for shutterbinds.com (on my crazy old window frames, which are definitely wonky/nor longer square) and possible screwing them up (thereby wasting thousands of dollars and creating a big hassle) seems like it could be stressful and a PITA. Have any of you found a (relatively) local millwork place that makes shutters and could do the measurements and possibly even recommend someone to install them (I can dream!)?
