BLINK Fitness noise complaint

Hi everyone, a BLINK fitness opened next to my apartment building. The sound of weights hitting the floor shakes my apt ever since. 5am to 11pm. Is there anything I can do other than flooding 311 with complaints? It s a nightmare.. The manager at the gym said they can’t do anything about it.

Be politely persistent. If you really want to make a difference, it generally takes lots of energy and many many hours of work.

Our neighbors’ noise issues were residential but some of the principles of dealing with it will be the same as for you.

-get other people in on this with you — if its just you, the precinct and others who can help sometimes think that if it’s just you, you’re just being unreasonable, even when that’s the furthest thing from the truth. It’s really hard to drum up others willing to help — many people don’t have time or inclination — but if you can bring others in, do so. Have them be Politely Persistent with you.

-Go to your community board meetings and raise the issue to everyone who will listen.

-Talk to your NYPD NCOs.. Find yours here: https://www1.nyc.gov/site/nypd/bureaus/patrol/find-your-meeting.page Input your address, contact your NCOs and ask for their help. Be nice to them, go to their meetings. They were a TREME NDOUS asset for people having trouble in our neighborhood. They are overworked but again, be Politely Persistent and gracious and they may be able to find a solution.

Buying/renting a residence next door / near a commercial business means living with commercial noises smells etc.
If it be Commercial Garbage removal in the middle of the night, commercial A/C running all summer, restaurant / bar music patrons chatter/noise leaving etc. All & more must be expected.
This is why they a typically a bit cheaper than something a few hundred feet away.

Is it in same building (if so complaints to landlord). Separate building – complaints to 311, but such an intermittent noise probably doesn’t lend itself to enforcement.
