HI, we’re having our brick townhouse repainted. Our contractor recommends BASF MasterProtect wall coatings. The problem is they don’t have the color we want. Is Benjamin Moore exterior paint far less durable? Thanks, Erin Kelly

I hope you’re not painting the brick? Painting brick is a bad idea because the brick needs to air out. Sealing brick with paint can trap water inside bricks and will cause erosion over time. Give it some more thought if that is what you plan to do.
