architect - do you have to keep working with one after the plans are approved?

It is possible for an a registered professional (IE: Registered Architect, Landscape Architect, or Professional Engineer) to supercede the application and close it out themselves. Jorge has a point about the copyright, but typically the original architect would be more than happy to have someone else worry about the sign-off. This part is becoming more burdensome for owners and professionals alike as the DOB is transitioning.
