Aluminum window trim capping that conforms to original wood trim.

Some installers should be able to wrap the existing old wood exterior trim with metal to preserve it, rather than chopping it off and replacing it with prefabricated aluminum or vinyl trim. The metal wrapping won’t have routing and other decorative features.

Novice window question: I’m replacing windows on my non-landmark building and like the look of the old wood exterior trim that’s been exposed. Is there a way to maintain this look while capping it with aluminum (like all the other windows in NYC)?
