Advice - preemptive preparation for gut renovation of attached home
Someone else just asked this a week or so back. See that post as there were a couple good comments. If this job is what you say it is, it will be a GC and part of being a gc in this city means carrying insurance.

Like slopeliving12 the home attached to ours (sister homes) shares a common wall. They are planning a gut renovation – including a horizontal expansion to the exterior wall. I’m honestly in the dark about how to prepare. I did visit DOB site and see that the work will entail structural changes with concrete and steel beams. Our homes were built in 1860s. I’m thinking it might be helpful to, preemptively, have someone experienced either look at the DOB filings or inspect my home. Do the contractors new owners have to provide insurance or escrow in the event that the structural changes impact our connected home? Is it advisable to have a contractor, engineer, or someone else inspect my home to assure that all is safe? Thanks for any advice!
