Hi. I’m planning on moving out of nyc in June – but will keep my rental property which is a small 3 family in bed stuy (Utica Ave A) – I’m looking for a reliable building manager to answer calls if something goes wrong. If a unit becomes available may need to rent it out and of course organize snow shoveling in the winter time. Any suggestions. Thank you!

I would try local small or family owned brokerages (if you can find one). I use two different ones to manage my rental properties. Just check their references and reviews.

From my experience it’s better to pay a little more and not have any issues. I do get advised of any issues and their correction (only because I like to know) but I have zero involvement. Vacancies are taken care of as well, I just electronically pay the managing agents every month.

I run a business, my rental portfolio is a sideline for investment/retirement so it’ very reassuring not to have to worry about anything.
