2 Family Conversion estimate

It sounds like this is a strict occupancy only conversion and no actual construction will be required (well, I guess removal of one kitchen, but you might be able to finesse that and/or turn it into a laundry room/craft room with actually zero or near zero plumbing changes and/or a bathroom and/or closet and just cap the existing lines). Presumably therefore what you are doing will not trigger a sprinkler requirement, and there will not be any crazy rent regulation issues to consider (since it’s already a two-family). You might want to speak to an architect or expediter/code expert who does these types of conversions all day long to get an idea of what is involved, the time frame and the cost.

…I have an unusual 2 family investment property that appears to be worth more as a 1 family than a double…….It has had periodic updates but I am in need of a very rough estimate ( range) to convert to a single family home….it is

1500 Sq Ft. upper/lower
no garage
seperate gas/electric
both units have 1 bath and a kitchen.

I have no idea as to the cost to convert and would appreciate any input
