General Contractor - JC Martin Renovations & Carlos Flooring

I recently came across a post from “Allan” where the user name he posted under was carloswoodfloors so I would take his recommendation with a grain of salt. I’ve also seen him recommend Martin before. I did use Martin for some work a few years ago and while work was generally good he refused to come back and fix some minor problems after he got his last payment.

We closed on a Co-op in Sunset Park and needed to have some light work done in the apartment, but also needed to move in relatively quickly. Martin quickly returned our calls, sent estimates and revised estimates quickly and scheduled our work. The time crunch made the plan for the work that needed to be done quickly. But Martin was able to get some surprising detail work done – removing years of paint and exposing beautiful wood in our bedroom and office. As well as exposing the original nickel on our front door. He was flexible when we chose to change our minds on various projects. His partner Carlos finished our wood floors. They look phenomenal. We get many compliments on the floors and painting. I will note that we were first time home buyers – and not really prepared for how the process would work. Sometimes the workmen left a sizable mess and a few times the work men seemed to not really know what they were doing. But if you have used contractors before perhaps you would have more patience than we did our first time around. We bought most (if not all) of our supplies – which helped with cost. When we needed to move in a few of the items that we wanted completed had not been done. We had to terminate service at that point, but we worked with Martin and itemized the work that had been completed and negotiated the final cost. www.jcmartinrenovations.com

I’ve also used Carlos Wood Floors before, I had a similar good experience. I have no prior experience with Martin of JC.
