Does anyone know where in Brooklyn, Manhattan, or online I can purchase ornamental kale/cabbage plants. It seems many places no longer have them.

Also, the commercial flower market in Manhattan, 28th Street between 7th and 8th almost always has them.

I’d try Brooklyn Terminal Market if its not too far out of the way.

Mazzones Tru Value on 4th Pl and Court still had a few on Sunday – the green and white ones. I wanted some for my garden much earlier in the season but they told me they needed sun so I didn’t get any. Given the freezing temps you may be out of luck this week, but their number is 718-624-8494 if you want to give them a try.

Kings is closed for the winter.

Have you tried Kings County nursery? I haven’t been in a while, but they usually have a decent selection. I’d call first, but it’s worth a shot. Chelsea Garden Center is another good one. I think their Brooklyn location is closed for the winter but it looks like they have a store in Manhattan. If you have a car, Weisner Brothers in Staten Island probably has them–they have more space so usually have more stock. What about Lowes and Home Depot? Again, I haven’t been looking for plants in a few months, but they might have them. I’d just call these places and see if anybody has any left.
