Mystery invasive plant

Anyone know what plant this is? It’s very invasive and nearly impossible to get rid of. Grows incredibly fast and the roots are just everywhere (light in color, break off very easily).

Thanks for the words of encouragement! I will keep at it! Sometimes it feels like you can see the thing grow – as in I just weeded that side of the yard yesterday and it’s back! I’m just 2 summers in, so a long way ahead…

Yes, arkady. I actually think bindweed knows when you go on vacation or away for the weekend and just moves in while you are away. Keep after it, catboot, and just accept that this is a multi-year project. I also find it helps to get on it early in the season. This is our 7th summer in our house and the first time we’ve made it into June with no bindweed (kine ayn hora).

As Slopey said, it’s worth keeping after it. I got rid of a massive invasion a few years ago but just saw a new vine creeping along today.

Yes, they do bloom white. I’ve been pulling them out for 2 summers now. Try to dig out the roots as much as possible (once filled a 1 gallon bucket with just roots). Some of our neighbors just let their back yards go to weeds, so I suppose my efforts may be futile…

Looks like bindweed. Very invasive. Loves to strangle other plants. If it starts to bloom white flowers, definitely bindweed, but if it flowers, you’ll risk seeds for next year.. We got rid of ours but it took years. Grab each individual vine right at the base and pull gently so you get as much of the root as possible (you’ll probsably get only an inch or so). They will grow back from rhizomes in the soil so do this about every week or so. If you stay on it, you will get less each year and eventually be done with it. .
