Good source for bamboo and japanese maple

I am looking to buy japanese maple trees (at a reasonable not exorbitant price) and bamboo for window boxes. Please list anywhere in bklyn, queens, nj you have had luck with, especially for the bamboo. And any suggestions on species of bamboo that remains bushier and green (not stringy and brown) would be great as well. thanks so much

If you can hold off until next May, the Plant Sale at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden will offer the best selection of Japanese Maple’s in the tri-state area. Be careful with Bamboo, as it’s incredibly invasive. You’ll need to control the roots when planting so it doesn’t end up all over every neighbor’s yard. Many plant in containers that they sink into the ground to help.

Try the place in brooklyn Terminal Market. That said, this time of year the selections will be very limited. But, whatever is left may be on sale!!! You can also order both through many places on the internet. Lots of places that specialize in all sorts of bamboo, especially shorter and dwarf types.
