Brick wall in garden?

Hi there – wondering if anyone knows the city regulations on brick walls in rear gardens? i’d like to build a brick wall at the rear of my property to replace the existing ugly chain link but not sure if that’s legal. does anyone else out there have brick walls in their gardens, and if so – any issues from the city? thanks.

just did it…recommendations are: 1) structural engineer 2) going to need some permit from city 3) landmarks (if relevant) will want a say if it can be seen from the street 4) understood it has to be same height as any old fence – 6′ 5) get a survey that’ll stand up in court 6) have fun with your neighbors

Anything with a foundation would require a permit. You can make it taller than a fence though.
