Best garden center in Brooklyn?

I’m new to Brooklyn and am looking for the best garden center. I have a small front yard that is a blank slate, and I would like to add native perennials, mulch or pebbles, and pavers to it. Can anyone suggest the best place to purchase garden supplies?

i went to Brooklyn Terminal Market last weekend and while the selection was good it was a not a pleasant experience, super crowded and long lines. also it seemed expensive for a wholesale type place. I like crest much more even if their selection is smaller.

I second the vote for Kings County Nursery on New York Avenue. Family-owned for 50 years, excellent selection and very healthy nursery stock. Have used them for years.

Shannon is good, as is Kings County Nursery; we usually go to one of those. Chelsea Garden Center is great, but quite expensive. The Brooklyn Terminal Market, with several wholesale dealers, might be your best bet.

Shannon’s is ok, and I’ve shopped there for years. Very nice owners. I think selection is better at Chelsea Garden Center in Red Hook–more interesting plants there outside of the typical impatiens, pyrocantha, juniper et al. Staff at Chelsea are also very, very nice. I went there to get some native shrubs for a backyard we redid last summer. As I remember, not as cheap but plants are good quality.
