Waterproofing stone foundation without excavating?
Drilling/injections – $45/sq ft. We also had pipe penetrations done around exterior pipes coming into the building at $600/pipe penetration. They give an itemized breakdown of prices so you can decided what you want to pay. They also inspect during the job and submit a change order if necessary. You have to approve the changes before they proceed. I checked tonight – basement is dry. Will recheck over next few days of rain.

Hello! I am starting my research into waterproofing the exterior wall of my stone foundation. I am looking for recommendations for people/ contractors who can waterproof the exterior wall. I also read it is possible to waterproof the exterior wall without excavating. I would love to hear from people who have had this done and any pros and cons of using that method and the materials used. Any recommendations of people who can do this type of work? Thanks in advance!

The only real way is from the outside. The water pressure will just push through. There used to be a company here that would inject a waterproofing clay from the inside.

Jockdeboaraia–thanks for your reply. That’s what I was thinking of doing. Does the company that does the clay injection still in business? Do you have the company’s information?

The process is called injection waterproofing. My co-op just had it done last month by a company called CGI http://www.cginortheast.com/. Our management company used them 4 years ago for another building. They have a 3-year warranty and that building is still dry after 4 years. George walked around the building with me and another board member, was sent photos after the heavy May rain, came by himself again before the job, and checked in regularly. We thought both he and the workers were very professional. He warned us that we also need to replace our basement windows, which leak, and we are working on that replacement as I type. They just ended the job and we haven’t had a bad rain storm yet so we haven’t been able to see how the injections have been working. If our basement stays dry, my brother is planning to hire them for his basement (in a private house).

I used it on a homeless shelter. We had to do the entire cellar. Someone did construction next door and int erupted an underground stream, which diverted into the cellar. Imagine a waterfall coming into the building. The company we used does not seem to be around anymore.

Hmm. might be what i need for my brownstone basement. Approximately how much does this cost?

Also interested in knowing cost as we are getting ready to tackle our cellar reno. Thanks.
