You will need an expert to remove that without breaking it. Call Manny LaSalle 917-292-1825\. He is a mason and chimney expert. You might want to check with someone first on the age of the mantle and see what you’ve got there. It’s marble, so worth several thousand dollars if a genuine antique. (The insides and hearth are new.) Also, I think it’s late 19th century, but I’m not sure. if it’s early 19th century and original to the house, you might want to reconsider removing it, as these are rare.
