Wood Floors

I have a 3-family house in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. After renovating one of the apartments, I have decided to refinish the living room and bedroom floors. They are not in great condition (there are spaces between the boards), but a neighbor, whose floors were in the same condition, had hers sanded, stained, and polyurethaned, and they look good, but rustic. I’d like to do the same with my floors, but her guy is not available. Can anyone recommend someone reliable for this job? Is U.S. Flooring still in business? I put a call in to their cell number and left a message, but haven’t heard back yet. Their 718 number has been discontinued.

A couple friends recommended Hajji to me, and he did great work in my brownstone at really reasonable prices. He restored some severely damaged parquet and, where there was no parquet, made the pine subfloor look fantastic. And he is an all-around decent guy. i just used lignum flooring and they were great and super affordable. Nehmias, the owner, is really nice. It’s a small company, they don’t sub out work, they do it themselves and are accomodating. http://lignumfloors.com/
