Wanted to Share Our Great Experience with Our Flooring Guy, Jose....

We just had our parquet floors redone in our brownstone in East Bed-Stuy.  I cannot give enough praise for Jose Zambrano who, with his highly skilled crew, sanded, stained and finished the floors on the third floor and hallway of the parlor floor.  I found Jose on Brownstoner through other Brownstoners and I am so glad we went with their recommendations.  Jose and his crew are extremely professional, clean, and skilled. Jose is responsive, reliable and completed the job within the time frame provided.  Jose also brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to his craft.  He offerred well thoughtout suggestions to our questions regarding stains and finishes.  Jose also maintains a collection of various wood flooring pieces/types from previous jobs and with these he was able to repair several sections of our oak and maple floors that were previously patched with unmatching pine, incuding reproducing an intricate, woven design in the corners of each of the rooms.  Bottom line, Jose provides what he advertises, his pricing is fair and the final product is EXACTLY what we wanted.

In all fairness, I had a less than noteworthy experience with Zambrano. He was great until he got the check. When a dishwaster overflowed after the floor guys kinked the line by moving it to sand underneath, he was no where to be found. He even denied that his guys moved the dishwasher, although I had explicitly asked them to move it out and they agreed.  I think maybe the tech wouldn’t admit fault to the boss. Dunno. Tons of text meassages from him “I’ll be there later today” and nothing.
