Settling floor in a basement bathroom

Hi – I’m wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a good flooring company that could fix the bathroom floor in the basement level of our duplex apartment.  The tile floor is settling, tiles are cracking, the toilet rocks a little when you sit on it, and we have to shim a side of the washer/dryer for it to be level.  The bathroom is about 10×6′. Recommendations appreciated, and if anyone has a ballpark I should expect to pay for this job it’d be appreciated.  We need someone to take out the sink cabinet and toilet, take up the tile, and then repair the subfloor and then retile.

What is confusing you is that there are two issues. The more obvious is who will do an acceptable job regarding finishes, let’s say what you see. The concealed issue is what has let go structurally to cause the existing surfaces to fail? This in your case might be diagnosed by studying the cellar ceiling, in that it might be open. Basically, once demo is performed to remove the present conditions, the sub-floormust be replaced and properly supported. Most common cause is massacre of beams by previous  tradesman who did what he was sent to do without taking into account the ramifications of chopping out one eensie widdle beam. Sometimes the finish guys aren’t so good at rough carpentry, and oftentimes the GC good with structural doesn’t have a good follow through with finishes.  Don’t be surprised if the waste lines have to be re-configured,  so a plumber might be in the mix.
