Flooring person - highest recommendation

Writing to unconditionally recommend Carlos Salazar and his uncle, Juan. They recently completely rehabilitated a 1600 sq ft, 100 year old floor in my Harlem apt and to say they went above and beyond is an understatement. Their advice, guidance and the quality of their work was truly first class, leaving me with an exceptionally beautiful floor, repaired and restored to it’s former glory. In addition to regular sanding, a light staining and finishing with Bona Traffic water-based poly, the work involved replacing a substantial section of parquet in the hallway (which had different colors of wood in the pattern) and rebuilding a large section of the original kitchen floor. I found Carlos on Brownstoner and wanted to reiterate that he is the real deal. On time, on budget, no funny business, (very fair pricing imo), does what he says and does it well. Hi Coffee cup. I am in the same place as you. I need a 125-year old floor replaced in a Harlem apartment. It is 1500 sq feet and I am very nervous. It will be far and away the most expensive part of my renovation. Is there anyway I could take a look at what Carlos did with yours? Although I actually need entirely new floors. I just had my floors redone by Carlos Salazar. He was truly great. This was a custom color job and he took the time to provide us with a range of samples; all were beautiful, one of which was exactly what we wanted. The actual refinishing included bleaching red oak floors, staining them, and then covering them with polyurethane. The result was exactly what we wanted, beautiful, and unique. I second that recommendation. I used him on two occasions and he is great. I also love the satin Bona Traffic look (water-based) compared to the oil-based high gloss look. His prices are the best around and he does not cut corners.
