I had a fence contractor come and install a fence in my back yard.  I am feeling quite foolish now because I think I was massively overcharged for the fencing panels.  He told me that each 6×8 panel (of treated wood) was $400 – running my materials cost upwards of $4000\.  Have I been completely taken to the cleaners due to my lack of knowledge?  They seem to be a lot cheaper at Loews…. thx

That is a really big mark up on materials IF the fence panels are the basic spruce that Lowes & Home Depot sell. If you went with something fancy, I can see the panels being more expensive.
