Backyard Project - Fence in!

I second Warren. He did our simple fence. He was great to deal with, worked quickly, efficiently, and there were no surprises.

We just had our IPE fence installed in our backyard. This is the 2nd phase of our project (after demolition.) Next is bluestone and possibly some planters. I highly recommend Warren for any fencing or deck work. He was extremely responsive, gave a good price, helped us with other parts of the project (e.g. helped us move a pallet of rubber mulch to our back area even though it had nothing to do with his work), and did a beautiful job! We are definitely going to bring him back for other work such as small deck we are considering and an extension to our fence in the front.

Valid question. The IPE cost about $1300 over the cost of cedar. Considering the price of the overall backyard project (including pavers, demolition, etc.), this is only about 10%. We are getting a wood that will last easily twice as long as Cedar, requires less maintenance, and looks a lot better, and the installation cost was about the same. No regrets on the extra cost at all. This was a 48 foot fence that surrounds our main hangout outside. When we replace our current cedar 60 foot side fence which is for our driveway and neighbors, it might be a totally different decision.
