Solar hot water heater experiences?

I am starting to explore the idea of installing a solar hot water heaters for our 2 family townhouse, and I would like to appeal to the wisdom and experience of our the brownstoner group. I am interested for environmental reasons, but am not blind to cost, hassle and aestehtics.  I am happy for any shreds of wisdom or advice, but my specific questions are:

i. when did you install;
ii. what brand did you install, and are you happy with it; any maintenance,
repairs required?
iii. what installation company did you use, and would you recommend;
iv. did you find that the heater was price efficient over the long run as
generally claimed?
v. any collateral issues we should think of (need to reinforce roof etc.)?
iv. cost range?
