Leaking issues: roof and window
I have 2 separate issues: 1. The roof of our small extension needs to be replaced as it has been patched up many times already. Does anyone have a recommendation for a company to do a small roof replacement? 2. A window on our top floor leaks through the top of the window frame every time it rains and it is a significant amount of water. I am not sure how to proceed with this kind of issue – does anyone have a suggestion as to the most likely cause of the leak and do we need to call a window replacement company or a contractor? Thanks for any advice.

Thank you for the feedback. The window leaking is above and not on the same side as the extension roof, but I do believe it may involve the main roof. I am also wondering if it could be as simple as caulking/sealing the outside of the window frame, so we are looking into this as well.

My problem was similar to Bob’s. I had water coming in through the tops/frames of the windows beneath where I had a leak in my cornice. The water just dripped down within the walls and right onto a window. I fixed my own leak, but finding the leak proved troublesome and I would suggest a roofer, too.

**Both** leaks could be a roof issue. When we bought our house we had water coming through a window frame because of a leak in the extension roof above it. Have a roofer look at this before considering possibly un-needed window replacement. FWIW, I’ve been happy with Tribeca Contracting (a roofer, rather than a general contractor, despite their name.
