Condensation around open masonry?
Hello, We have a fireplace on our first floor that runs up through the second floor and releases right above. The chimney was recently reflashed and our roof was replaced. However, we continually get water staining on the ceiling around the chimney on the second floor. There does not seem to be a water leak coming in, so we think it may be condensation. Has anyone experienced this problem, and if so, could you recommend a solution? Thanks!~

Does this chimney service the boiler? Maybe it is the wrong size for the boiler? I have heard gas boilers run at a cooler temperature than oil boilers, and sometimes when people switch if they don’t resize the chimney, they can have condensation problems. Maybe a chimney or a boiler expert would have more information.
