timing for filing plans

In a perfect world there would be no need to wait.  In Brooklyn, I would wait because the plan examiner may take issue with certain aspects of the demolition.  If the examiner thinks you should keep a wall that you want to remove, it may affect your subsequent construction project.

If a demo plan is filed seperately from construction plans, should you wait with filing the rest of the plans until the demo plan is approved?
